Lunch and Snack go to New England, September 2006.
First stop--O'Hare International Airport in Chicago. The cows had plenty to do for a long layover.
Boston has lots of cool, historic buildings.
This is the Old Statehouse, the seat of British government during the Revolution. In 1776, the Declaration of Independence was first read to the people of Boston from the balcony.
The U.S.S. Constitution fought in the War of 1812. Known as "Old Ironsides," the ship sits in Boston Harbor.
Lunch and Snack encounter a giant boot outside the L.L.Bean flagship store in Freeport, Maine. They didn't want to know what material boots are really made from.
Rockland, Maine, had lots of pretty boats....everywhere!
The cows spent a night camping near Hall Bay on the Flying Point peninsula. Snack is ready for a hike with her backpack.
Lunch and Snack are all ready for a spin around the bay.
The cows get their first taste of the Atlantic Ocean at Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island near Bar Harbor, Maine.
Sand Beach is a big, sandy beach. The rest of the island is all rocks!
Cadillac Mountain was a favorite romantic spot for the cows. It's 1,530 feet above sea level--the hightest point in Acadia National Park.
Thunder Hole is right down the road from Sand Beach. The waves make a big, thunder noise when they crash against a cave in the rocks.
"You mean, people eat this thing?"
"Cake is more like it, but where's the grass?"
The cows stop to admire the view of the Kennebec River near Skowhegan, Maine, on the way to Quebec.
"Lunch? Do you think we're related?"
Yet another pretty scene of fall foliage in New England. This time, it's near Jackman, Maine.
